Youngstown, NY – LAX Federation (LAXFed) proudly announces that it has joined forces with long-time industry friend, Summit Lacrosse Ventures (SLV) to operate the 14th Annual Niagara Lacrosse Classic (NLC), July 18-19, 2020 at Old Fort Niagara. The NLC was founded in 2007 by Michael Wright; since its inception, the tournament has offered thousands of young lacrosse players the opportunity to create lasting memories, on and off the field, in a beautiful destination at the intersection of the mighty Niagara River and Lake Ontario.

SLV, most known for its flagship Lake Placid Summit Classic, founded by George Leveille in 1990, is a nationwide leader in delivering first-class lacrosse experiences to boys, girls, men and women, from Lake Placid, NY to Lake Tahoe, CA. SLV shares with LAXFed a commitment to offering unique lacrosse experiences in destination locations, while emphasizing the development of life skills, and fostering a lifelong community of individuals who love lacrosse, and who share the ideals of competition, respect, and camaraderie.

"I could not be more excited to have the Niagara Classic powered by SLV, lacrosse's #1 event leader! I met George back in 2008 at a tournament he helped run in Albany and quickly learned we shared many of the same lacrosse values. The SLV team is the perfect group to work with to ensure the Niagara Classic carries on with the great tradition it has started well into the future!", said Michael Wright.

“For many years Michael and I have spoken about the similarities between the Niagara Lacrosse Classic and the events in our stable at SLV. The venue and the vibe at Old Fort Niagara are perfect for a lacrosse tournament. I’m excited to join Michael in providing players, coaches and families the opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime", said SLV's Brand Manager, Kevin Leveille. “The NLC aligns well with our existing programming and we look forward to continuing and building upon its great tradition”, continued Ashley Murphy, SLV’s Chief Executive Officer.

Michael Wright and the cadre of individuals who have facilitated the successful operation of the NLC for many years will remain involved in the event in 2020 and beyond.

The 2020 Niagara Lacrosse Classic will offer boys divisions for graduation years 2021-2031 and is exploring the possibility of adding girls’ divisions beginning in 2021.
